The ambulatory service is a mobile service where farm calls are made to provide everything from routine preventative care, to an investigation of health concerns and emergency medical care. This service covers approximately a 100 mile radius around the Ocala area and is available 24/7. Routine preventative maintenance procedures include vaccinations, deworming strategies, coggins tests, health certificates, castrations, nutritional counseling, and general therapies for keeping your horse healthy when faced with seasonal, environmental, performance and age related challenges. Other health concerns involving lameness, illness, reproduction, skin disease and allergies, can also be addressed to name a few. And of course emergencies such as colics, lacerations and eye injuries take a priority. If further diagnostics or treatment is deemed necessary, Dr. Simonson will assist in referring the patient to the most highly qualified clinician or clinic and work with them to provide the best possible treatment and continuity of care. If Dr. Simonson is unavailable back up clinicians are always available.
